This is just to put in writing to you the fact that I know privately that A.E.Zimmern would much like to put in for the Vice-Chancellorship of Hong Kong University, which he tells me falls vacant next Spring.

I think Amery is writing to you also about this. But you know as well as I do, that if the Drawback in Zimmern's case could be overlooked, they would be getting the most brilliant Principal that they have had for mahy a long year.

Also, as you may perhaps know, he has been doing a good deal of lecturing in the States this year, and he has had pupils there.
